NA4SA Summer Workshop

Looking for a great way to KICK OFF the new school year? We've got one...

We invite all Activity Advisors to JOIN US for our annual NA4SA Summer Workshop! Started in 2018, and formerly known as the National Activity Advisors Clinic, this event represents a rebirth of the classic "Advisor Fly-In" weekend, where activity advisors from throughout North America come together for a weekend of hands-on training, networking, idea sharing, and good old-fashioned FUN!

Our Summer Workshop is different than the NA4SA National Conference - it is a virtual event that is more intimate and focused on specific skills, ideas and activities that you can take and use right away. You'll leave our Summer Workshop invigorated, excited, and loaded with new ideas to bring back to your school - just in time for a new school year!

Student Activity Professionals know that one of the things that keeps them going year after year is a support network of other like-minded individuals who appreciate the importance and value of Student Activities in establishing and maintaining a strong and vibrant school community. Sharing ideas, reaching out when issues arise, and just the camaraderie of people who know the importance of developing student leaders through activity participation all contribute to longevity in their positions.

A golden opportunity to build that network and learn some new skills to get the school year off to a good start is the NA4SA Summer Workshop, which will be hosted this year by the Minnesota Association of Student Leaders (MASL) on Saturday August 15, 2026. The theme of this year's Summer Workshop is "S'more Leadership", contributing to the professional growth of Student Activity Professionals from a wide range of backgrounds. Veteran advisors and experts in the field of Student Activities will be sharing some of their resources and ideas that you can bring back, adapt for your own use, and implement on DAY ONE. Our goal is to offer the resources you need to provide a more rewarding leadership experience to your student leaders - and a more rewarding advising experience to YOU!

To keep the experience affordable and allow participation for advisors from across the country, the clinic will be held virtually through Zoom from 12:00 to 3:00 p.m. Eastern time. With sessions that appeal to all types of activity advisors – clubs, class council, student council, leadership class, and more – attending our Summer Workshop is a great way to get "S'more Leadership" NOW to ensure a successful start to the school year for veterans and beginners alike!

The MASL hosting team and NA4SA Board member Trisha Bemboom are now working to finalize a hands-on, interactive, practical, and inspirational program. Be sure to watch upcoming issues of A Parade of Ideas (our official newsletter) for updates and teasers!

Keynote Presenter

DR. PHIL CAMPBELL

We are excited to announce that our keynote presenter for this year’s NA4SA Summer Workshop will be the one and only Dr. Phil Campbell. Known to his students and staff as “PC”, Dr. Campbell is a veteran educator with a true passion for loving kids and motivating educators. “PC” will help jump start your year with practical strategies and inspiration for building a strong, relationship focused climate and culture in your school community. His message is the perfect first spark to light the leadership fire for the year ahead!

Phil’s goal is to assist schools in becoming the best learning environment they can possibly be for students to learn and for teachers to teach. His philosophy to accomplish this is simple: put relationships first, genuinely love and protect one another, and create a sense of family within your school setting. With educational experience as a teacher, coach, athletic director, and principal, “PC” understands how to overcome obstacles to win for today’s youth and educators.

The preliminary Summer Workshop schedule is presented below (subject to change); all times listed below are EASTERN TIME:

11:30 a.m.-12:00 p.m. - Pre-Conference Tech Check & Social Time
12:00-12:10 p.m. - Welcome & Icebreaker
12:10-1:00 p.m. - Keynote Presenter - Dr. Phil Campbell
1:00-1:30 p.m. - Workshop Session #1 (multiple options)
- Each workshop session will be jam-packed with ready to use ideas from fellow Student Activity Professionals that you can take back to your school, organization, or State Association to make a difference right away
1:35-2:05 p.m. - Workshop Session #2 (multiple options)
2:10-2:40 p.m. - Idea Share Groups
- You’ll have the opportunity to collaborate, share ideas/best practices, and connect with fellow Student Activity Professionals with a particular focus on what matters to you and the student leaders you work with.
2:40-2:45 p.m. - Closing and Thank Yous

Individual registration - $25
Paid registration not only gets you in for live collaboration and networking on the date of the event, it also provides full login access to the online workshop portal throughout the 2026-2027 school year to watch (or re-watch) any and all recorded sessions.
